The Designer

Marella Ferrera, 39, was born in Catania and lived for many years in Rome where, in 1978, she was admitted to the Academy of Fashion and Costume. She later moved to Milan where she opened her first boutique, but Catania is the place where she personally follows the production of her creations: in the atelier, pride of the family since 1958. Curiosity, intuition and imagination are in a nutshell her three "magic words." An idealist, as only a real artist can be, Marella Ferrera is continually looking for intellectual gratification.

The "Marella Ferrera Style" is characterized by simultaneously sober but "constructed" lines and by the use of original materials such as lava, glass, arum lilies and the rock crystal embroidery sculptures she uses to create miniature masterpieces. Marella's perfume continues her young tradition.
